Gadget Technician Job

Job Title: Gadget Technician

Location: St Neots/Huntingdon

Hours: 9-5 Monday – Friday

Salary: £18,000 – £20,000

In these times, a growing business with expansion plans is good news. From our new office premises in Offord Cluny between St Neots and Huntingdon, you’ll be jumping in just at the right time as our first Gadget Technician, carving out a career for yourself and helping us move to the next stage.

You’re reading this because you love tech and have an eye on the environment too. At Gadget GoGo we bought, assessed, fixed and sold on 1000’s of handheld gadgets last year and are looking to increase that number this year, saving them from landfill and putting cash in our customers’ pockets instead.

You’ll be interested in this job if you have an inquisitive mind, and enjoy diagnosing and fixing technical device issues, including IOS and Android devices and older offline versions. In this role your responsibilities will go from receiving and assessing devices and valuing them (we’ll show you how), to repairing and preparing for listing on our ecommerce channels. It also includes overseeing online sales and picking, packing and despatching orders. There’s some online customer service too.

It’s a fully operational role preparing you for progression into a management role. There’s two of us right now, and we need a Gadget Technician with their mind on personal development as we plan to recruit a larger team in the next 12-18 months.

What’s not to like?

If this is ticking your boxes, see if you tick ours. We’re looking for someone with a recent background in device diagnosis and repair in a mobile phone/computer repair shop or technology-led pawnbrokers. Though you won’t have to deal face to face with the customers in this job, we still need you to be a nice person with a positive outlook.

You’ll need to be a self-starter, able to work under supervision and without, have a natural flair for troubleshooting and an inquisitive mind. You’ll probably find yourself asking “Why?” a lot. Familiarity with selling on eBay, working with ecommerce websites and supervisory/team leadership experience would be a plus.

Our new office already has a chair, and with your name on it – upload a cover letter and CV below to see if we’re a good match and for an initial interview.
