The iPhone 12 is coming – and for Apple fans, that’s always a big deal. In the past few days, there have been some big leaks and details about the firm’s forthcoming 2020 iPhone. As always, Apple is keeping tight-lipped about what’s coming up. However, there are plenty of industry sources and blogs out there helping to fill in the gaps.

So – what can we expect from the next iPhone? Let’s take a look at what we know so far.

How Many New Apple Phones Will There Be?

Apple tends to throw several iPhone versions out at us in one go. The iPhone 12 launch doesn’t look to be much different in that regard, as we will likely have a pick of around four different handsets to choose from. As you might expect, two of these will be ‘Pro’ models.

That is, of course, according to rumours! We’re likely going to see phones up to 6.7″ in size, with the smallest being 5.4″. Therefore, if you really weren’t keen on the size of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, you’ll have access to a smaller option if you prefer.

New Camera Technology

Of course, we can expect more from the camera tech this time around. The 11 range really upped the ante in this area. However, rumours suggest the iPhone 12 is likely to boast a full 3D camera or even LiDAR scanner technology.

LiDAR scanning is a technology which aims to add depth. It’s similar to laser scanning and radar technology in a fashion. Therefore, while it might not boost the power of the upcoming iPhone camera, it will at least improve our AR or augmented reality experiences!

But don’t be too quick to think ‘I must sell my iPhone to pay for the 12’ just yet – read up on a few more rumours below!

A Similar Interface?

Leaks from various bloggers and industry sources suggest that we won’t see much of an improvement over the look of the iPhone 11 series. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. However, if leaks are worth believing, it seems as though some of the design concerns with the 11 haven’t been addressed adequately with the 12.

That said, the phone aesthetics are still very striking. Similar to other modern Apple phones, the 12 appears to be leading with more screen and fewer physical widgets. That can only be a good thing. It’s a good reason to sell Apple phone tech to make room for the new range.

However, some sources believe the new iPhones will drift towards squarer edges and will take inspiration from earlier models, particularly those in the 4 and 4S line. That means steel framing and glass fixtures. If true, this could be a game-changing design choice.

Potential iPhone 12 Display Features

Rumours are also circulating that the new iPhone range will make use of OLED across the board. This means that even the lowest-priced model might have the best in pixel display technology backing it up.

What’s more, some sources suggest that Apple is considering a move to ProMotion. This technology allows devices to refresh at varying speeds depending on the applications in use. It could help to make things even more efficient.

Looking forward to the iPhone 12? Want to sell old iPhone tech to drum up some quick cash? We don’t blame you. Stay tuned for more buzz as and when it arrives!
