We’re getting towards that time of year again. With buzz abound regarding the new iPhone 12 lineup, Apple fans are getting excited to see what the autumn holds. One big question on everyone’s lips should be fairly obvious. Will, the new iPhone range improve on the huge success of the 11 lineup?

It’s been a while since we looked at everything we know about the new phone range and with the rumour mill on a constant cycle, here’s our latest roundup of the leaks and rumours circulating the web right now.

iPhone 12 Release Date

For years now, September has been the month that Apple hosts its famous Keynotes where they announce their latest range of products and Apple fans receive confirmation of what will be changing. It’s been rumoured online that the iPhone 12 event will be pushed back now into the second or maybe even the third week of October with pre-orders happening immediately and shipping happing sooner than usual.

For those waiting for the Pro variations, you might have to wait a little longer as rumours suggest that the pre-orders and shipping won’t take place until November.

A Shock New Design

For the longest time, the new iPhone 12 lineup was something of a mystery as far as designs were concerned. Rumours circulated that the new range would borrow from the classic iPhone 4 design, heading back to solid glass.

This, according to leaks, seems to be true. The notch at the top of your iPhone X and iPhone 11 is likely to be smaller on most of the new designs, and what’s more, the newest iPhone range is likely to be more angular in appearance, meaning the look of your new phone is will most certainly take on a retro appeal.

However, some sources believe that ‘pro’ versions of the 12 could well keep larger notches. This could be a deal-breaker for some but is unlikely to affect overall popularity.

A Split Release for the iPhone 12 Lineup?

It’s been commonplace in recent years for Apple to unleash different styles and versions of a phone generation in one go. However, some leaks believe that the 12s will arrive in a staggered fashion.

It’s common knowledge that Apple will be releasing its new phones a little later than planned. However, strong rumours are gaining momentum surrounding when they will all ship. One such rumour believes that we’ll be seeing some 12s get to us a few weeks after the maiden launch.

It’s thought that the 12 will launch with a ‘Plus’ variant, as mentioned. This, again, according to rumour, will replace the ‘Max’ range the 11 launched with.

A Battery Life Decrease?

One thing Apple fans are going to need to look out for regarding the iPhone 12 lineup is battery life. Apple smartphones earned some notoriety over the years for their shaky battery consumption. This time around, it seems that Apple will be curtailing the battery life for its new phones.

Given the infamy surrounding iPhone batteries, this seems like a step backwards to some people. There’s an assumption that the new phones will trump the 11s in terms of power and processing – so will a battery decrease generally work?

You should also look out for 5G capability, too. Apple is allegedly getting ready for a huge push on fifth-generation data, with 12s leading the way.
