Knowing which Apple AirPods you have is important in order to get the most accurate price. You’ll have to be able to identify three things, two of which are straightforward and one which is a little trickier.
Are they regular AirPods or Pros?
This one is fairly simple, the telltale sign is obviously the shape. Are they traditional earphones or ear buds – all AirPod Pros are earbuds.
Is the case wired or wireless?
Another simple one which you’ll probably already know but the quickest way to tell is to look at the case. Firstly all, AirPod Pros are wireless. If you have original AirPods, then you’ll want to look for a status light that is on the front of the case if the front of the case doesn’t have this and is completely blank, you likely have a wired charging case.
Are your AirPods originals or Second Generation?
This is slightly thicker. Firstly, you’ll have to find the serial number which can be done in two ways firstly, identify it on the devices, it’ll be on the AirBud itself but is quite small, it’ll start with an A. The easiest way is by using your phone…
- On your iPhone go to settings > Bluetooth
- Find your AirPods in the list
- Hit the info icon and you’ll see the serial number
Below we’ve put the details of which serial number tallies up with which generation to help out…
