Sony has finally appeased gamers all over the world – details for the almost mythical PS5 are finally online! The PlayStation 5 is set to be the most powerful Sony games console of all time. While there were plenty of details available from the brand themselves, many experts and fans are looking deeper for more finite information.

Before you start thinking ‘I must sell my PS4’, however, it’s worth looking at a few of the facts! Don’t sell a games console until you see what the PS5 is going to offer.

Spectacular Specs

Of course, it’s well worth reading up on the console specs before you start pre-ordering. At launch, it’s clear that the new Sony system will boast up to 8K visuals, with the potential for 120fps. On top of this, gamers can expect a custom SSD for game saves and other data.

It’s the size of the SSD that’s going to surprise you – try 825GB on for size! That is a huge expansion from previous consoles in the PS line, and with games lining up likely to be eating up plenty of your time, it makes sense to have a lot of space available.

Games Galore

Plenty of the games announced for the Playstation 5, too, will likely set tongues wagging. We’re going to be playing a new Gran Turismo title – the seventh in the popular racing series. You’re also going to get the chance to play a whole new Spider-Man adventure, with Miles Morales in the role of the web-slinger.

Interestingly, it seems that we will get a new adventure for platform stalwarts Ratchet and Clank, as well as an adaptation of Grand Theft Auto V – and its online service. Resident Evil and Oddworld fans, too, can expect new entries in their long-running franchises.

What’s the PlayStation 5 Release Date?

This is one detail that’s not too clear. According to some online stores, it seems that we will likely see the console hit online shelves mid-November. That would make sense if Sony really wants to tap into the Thanksgiving and pre-Christmas markets. Is the PlayStation 5 lining up for a Black Friday launch?

How Much Will It Cost?

Again, we don’t have official word from Sony or retailers yet on this side of things. However, insider details seem to suggest that we can expect to pay around £449. This bases on previous releases, and what analysts believe to be competitive.

However, time will tell quite how many pennies you’ll have to save. Want to sell old Playstation games to drum up some cash? It might just be worth it.

Backwards Compatibility

This is always a hot topic. Some gamers even sell Sony console systems when they realise they can’t play old games! Current reports seem to suggest that you will be able to play most PS4 games on the new system.

“Should I sell my PS3?” – we hear you ask. The truth is, we’re not sure yet! There is likely to be much more information released about the PlayStation 5 in the weeks and months to come, so stay tuned!
